subagent-optimizer

by IonDen

Optimizes Claude Code subagents (.claude/agents/.md) and Codex custom agents (.codex/agents/.toml); agent skills (SKILL.md folders) are handled by skill-optimizer. Use when asked to audit, optimise, slim down, or fix those agents: set a proper tools allowlist on a Claude subagent (one with no tools field inherits every tool on each launch), remove Claude keys that make Codex skip an agent, cut bloated or duplicated system prompts, tighten descriptions so they trigger reliably, and right-size the model and reasoning effort. Triggers: "optimize my subagents", "optimise my agents", "audit my subagents", "subagent optimizer", "audit my codex agents", "my agent uses too many tokens", "fix my agent's tools list", "review .claude/agents", "review .codex/agents", "make my agents cheaper".

skill-optimizer

by IonDen

Use when asked to shrink, trim, compress or optimize an agent skill (a folder with a SKILL.md) so it costs fewer tokens, or when a skill feels too long. Cuts by deletion and restructuring only, can move rarely needed sections into references/ behind a load trigger, and checks that every rule, exception, command and threshold survives before anything is applied. Never edits the frontmatter; suggests description changes instead. Subagent definitions in .claude/agents/ and Codex agents in .codex/agents/ are a different thing, handled by subagent-optimizer. Triggers: "optimize this skill", "shrink my skill", "this skill is too long", "trim SKILL.md", "my skills eat my context", "skill optimizer".

writing-tests-that-can-fail

by IonDen

Use when writing, reviewing or fixing tests in any language or framework: before committing tests, when about to mock or stub a dependency, when a new test passes on its first run, when coverage looks high but bugs still ship, or when an existing test goes red and the quick fix would be to change the test instead of the code. Triggers: "write tests", "add unit tests", "review these tests", "make the tests pass", "fix the failing test", "increase coverage", "mock this".
