Frontend Design Skill
Overview
This orchestrator skill composes five design dimensions with tech-specific implementations to create distinctive, production-grade frontends that avoid generic AI design patterns.
The 5 Dimensions:
- Typography â Typeface selection, font pairings, weights, sizing, and hierarchy
- Color & Theme â Emotional intent, color systems, and unexpected accents
- Motion â Orchestrated animations, easing, and interaction choreography
- Spatial Composition â Layout, spacing systems, and asymmetrical design
- Backgrounds & Details â Subtle textures, gradients, and visual rewards
Tech Implementations (choose one):
- React with Vite and Framer Motion
- Vue (Options API or Composition API)
- Svelte with custom animations
- HTML/CSS/SCSS fundamentals
- Design system integrations (Tailwind, shadcn/ui, Radix, Material)

8-Phase Workflow
- Design Thinking â Answer purpose, tone, constraints, differentiation
- Typography â Select typefaces, weights, sizes, hierarchy
- Color & Theme â Define emotional intent, color system, accents
- Motion â Plan animations, easing, interaction sequences
- Spatial Composition â Design layouts, spacing scales, asymmetry
- Backgrounds & Details â Add subtle textures, gradients, micro-details
- Implementation â Follow your tech-specific sub-skill
- Validation â Design review, accessibility, performance, mobile
Anti-Patterns (Reject These)
Typography
- â Inter, Roboto, Open Sans, Lato, system fonts
- â Mid-range weights only (400, 500, 600)
- â Incremental size scaling (48px â 40px â 32px)
Color
- â Material Design trinity (Blue, Red, Green)
- â Pure grays without personality (#999, #CCC)
- â Oversaturated neon accents
Layout
- â Everything centered (predictable, boring)
- â Uniform padding everywhere
- â "Default SaaS dashboard" aesthetic
Motion
- â Linear timing on everything
- â No animation at all
- â Slow, sluggish transitions (2s+)
