About this skill
This skill provides implementation patterns for Next.js App Router development, focusing on Server Components, Server Actions, and data fetching strategies. It helps prevent common anti-patterns like improper client-side data fetching and over-broad caching. Use this skill when building modern Next.js applications that require efficient server-side rendering and secure data mutations.
SKILL.md
Next.js Core (App Router)
- Server Components by default; minimal
"use client". - Mutations in Server Actions (validate/authz; revalidate tags/paths).
- Route handlers for APIs/webhooks; add loading/error boundaries.
Anti-patterns:
- ❌ Fetch initial data in
useEffect. - ❌ Cache or revalidate too broadly.
- ❌ Client-only authz.
